Potato tomato cuisine

Well.. am back !

Today i thought of making something different from my usual egg curry stuff. So i experimented. The outcome will be known after a few more lines... :-)

Ingredients: Potatoes, tomatoes, green chillies, onions, garlic paste, ginger paste, hot curry masala paste

Process:

Cut onions,tomatoes and chillies.
Boil the potatoes in a cooker(1 whistle only)
Now, what you do is ...... saala yaad nahi aa raha be...

Haan... now you take a large vessel and put some oil in it.
Place the vessel on the stove(electric stove is just awesome yaar..)
Fry the onions, garlic+ginger paste, curry masala and chillies. Upon brownish color, add tomatoes.
Now let the mixture fry till dark brown. Add some water and some more cut tomatoes(well.. i added tomatoes coz the curry became very hot)

Still reading?? Let the whole thing cook now.

Now the bottomline... what actually became was aloo bhajji.. so we had to buy some pav('bread' for the non-Indian users) to have our dinner with this 'thing'...

You ask how did u manage?

Piece of cake ! :-).. *

Killed by a 'thousand passes'

Yesterday i was crushed with sorrow and grief to see Germany loosing to Spain in the World Cup semi-finals. The feeling still lingers...

What a tournament it had been for Mannschaft. They had come to the South Africa as an unfancied team. People in Germany had written them off(they always do before any major tournament)
But as it is always said - Never write-off Germany.

But boy-oh-boy ! Did they have a tournament? They turned out to be the most entertaining team annihilating England(read my earlier blog) and Maradona's Argentina en-route to the semi-finals.

The 2nd youngest team of the competition just were unstoppable. Joachim Loew, nicknamed Jogi in Germany changed the German way of playing. They reminded me of the free flowing Dutch side of the 70's. They were absolutely scintillating.

But as it is said consistency is the key to winning. They were killed by a 'thousand passes'.
La Roja played their best game of this World Cup to end Germany's hopes of an eighth final appearance.

Alas! It will be now another 4 years wait for me and for like-minded fans. Am heartbroken.

I am now rooting for Netherlands, not because Spain defeated Spain and i would love to watch Spain loose. It is because the Holland side has been playing scintillating football since years.Legendary (I seldom use this word)
It is the best side never to have won the World Cup. If you have no idea what i am talking about, you are probably reading the wrong blog.

Egg curry recipe

Well, before I even begin writing anything about cooking, I shall take this forum to acknowledge my roomie cum Big Bro - Anand 'Sufi Fanatic' Vardhan who has taught me step by step and never fussed or made a face when bugged with brilliant queries about cooking :-)

Paraphernalia needed for the recipe :
Onions,Tomatoes,oil,turmeric powder,chilli paste.

Steps:
1st cut onions, boil eggs.
Take a big container that can contain the number of eggs you wanna cook.
Put some oil and cut onions and fry till onions become light brown in color.
Now put some turmeric, some mirchi powder, garlic paste,a couple of other pastes i don't remember now and fry deep. Now put some cut-tomatoes(If you wanna kill the masala flavor and wanna make it less hot, add more tomatoes)
Let the paste fry for a little while. Now add some water. Let the whole mixture now boil for sometime. Till then, make small holes in the boiled eggs. This ensures that the masala taste reaches the inner part of the eggs( Oh ! how brilliant Kartik)

When the mixture become boiling hot, place the eggs one-by-one. Now let the whole thing just boil.
After sometime, the most Legendary-sumptuous dish ever served on this planet is ready to devour.

Don't know where this originated from but found it halarious

'' In a bid to prove that he was alive, Osama Bin Laden featured in a video saying that England's performance at the World Cup was appaling.

However, British intelligence has dismissed the video alleging that the video could have been shot anytime in the past 44 years !
