Dal Recipe

I finally made dal. For all of those who are not aware, i always used to make egg bhurji(recipe in next log) when my turn came up for cooking :-)
We, in the UK, take turns for cooking at home.

It(making dal) is quite simple.
1st, take some red dal + tuar dal in a cooker, put some water, add salt and close the lid of the cooker and let it cook for 1 whistle. Will take around 15-20 mins.

Meanwhile, cut some onions and green chillies. After the dal is ready, place a frying pan( a big one) on the gas stove and on it some sunflower oil. Put some jeera and the freshly cut chillies in the pan. Fry them till they become dark brown in color. Now add the onions and fry the whole thing till onions become light brown.

Now pour the dal in the frying pan. Add some tomotoes + some salt and keep the gas on sim.

Sumptuous dal is ready :)

And they say cooking is difficult... Uh !!
Piece of cake...

Die Mannschaft it is

This moment realy called for a blog.
Herr we go again as jelous fans in England start Kraut-baiting :
Germany beat England in a World Cup 4-1. & to add i watched it in England.

Well, before i start, there are a few things i would like to mention which actually made me feel so nice to see Germany stifle the 'stiff upper lip' the so-called 'english lads' have.

During the group stages of the world cup, i used to read the english newspapers about both the England and German teams not performing to their potential(quiet true) and making all kinds of permutations to find who England's next likely opponent be.
They fortelled a possible England - Germany clash in the round of 16.
The reasons: England will finish at the top of their group and Germany might slip to 2nd position respectively. They never came up with the possibility where they might end up 2nd in their group and Germany 1st(which ulitmately did happen)
This wasn't the least.
More to come -
In the run-up to the round of 16 clash, the papers looked beyond this clash and went to the extent of fortelling a possible England-Argentina clash(if Arg beat Mexico)
Never did it occur that England might not able to break the Berlin(German) wall?

What is with the arrogant british that they hate Germany so much?
Why is it, that whenever football throws up an encounter with the Germans, english folk who might have never set foot near a U-boat or stared down the barrel of a Walther P-38, respond to the most idiotic Herr Flick banter and Kraut-baiting?
What did the Bundesrepublic Deutschland ever do to hurt England?

I suppose the answer-in footballing terms - lies in the sort of deep, simmering resentment that only half a century of coming second-best can breed.

As every child in England knows, Eng beat West Germany in the 1966 world cup final.Since then,England's best showing in a world cup has been a semi-final defeat against you-kno-who.
During that time germans have been in 5 world cup finals,2 world cup 3rd place play-offs and 6 European Championship finals.
No wonder wonder the average unthinking English numb nut sees Germany in the draw and starts singing about the war. There's simply nothing else to crow about.
England are jealous of Germany and fear them. In other words, for the small-minded few, inferiority complex time is here. & this is to stay on for-ever. It only take one moron to take umbrage at a penalty defeat and there will be Audis smashed and sausages looted from Lidl. London will be in the grip of a senseless Kristallnacht of its own devising.
As i said - The 'Lads fear Die Mannschaft'
This expression of fear was gallore today. One could easily see in Wayne Rooney's eyes.
This England side is(now 'was') said to be the 'Golden side' with a lot of experience behind them.
Comparatively, the Germans have a very young, in-experienced 'Next Generation' side, but they played with much confidence and authority.
Maybe you don't have to be too strong to beat England.
The English talked about the Germans being average, but they made England look like a bunch of school kids.

I hope the juggernaut rolls on...
